We're delighted to announce that after our initial trial of 'micro' round robin events during September and October 2019, we have doubled the pitches, doubled the teams and doubled the footballing opportunities for young players!

In June and July 2020 we shall host three 8 team events for School Years 2,3 & 5 at Le Rocquier School. Year 4's will participate in the Jersey FA Round Robin event around the same time at Springfield Stadium.

Local teams have already signed up from across the island and many more wanting to participate... who knows, next year we may get even bigger once again!

We can't wait to host our friends from around the island in a fun, safe, learning environment.

New Year, New Term, More football opportunities!

Our new Game Sense Girls player development program started in September and our youngsters are doing fantastically well!

For the new Spring Term we are expanding our age bands and offering football for players in School Years 1,2,3&4!!

Three free introductory sessions are available for new players to see how they enjoy themselves and settle into the game and our coaching sessions.

Practice sessions will be during term time only on Thursday evenings from 5-6pm indoors at Oakfield Sports Centre opposite Hautlieu School. The sessions will be lead by Coach Tiff Sundby who is supported by Brody, Talia and Leah Morris.

Practice sessions start again on 9th January 2020.

Club Chairman Aaron Travers stated,
"A girls program has always been in our thoughts since Game Sense United formed four years ago. Recently we have achieved a higher level of Charter Standard status through our clubs growth and provision of football opportunities within the community. This season we felt we are in a position to support girls football in a safe and fun environment and sessions will be delivered by an all female coaching team.

Our current GS development program has already seen three female players represent the Jersey Primary School team and the Jersey FA Player Development Centre, however we feel that an all female coaching team is an important ingredient to increase female participation and provide football opportunities to young girls.

We are delighted with how our first term has developed and our coaches are now wanting to progress our current players further whilst also introducing new girls to the game"

Part of the GS United Club Philosophy is to provide the opportunity for new coaches to take their first steps on the coaching pathway and support them throughout their coaching journey. This is another great example of how we are doing exactly that.

Aaron continued
"We have acquired four enthusiastic young female coaches who are passionate about the sport and are looking forward to developing our Game Sense Girls Program during the coming seasons"

Please contact gamesensesoccer@gmail.com for further information or direct message on Facebook.

We are delighted to inform you we have our own smartphone app which is 100% FREE to join through TeamApp.

Our Game Sense United app will keep you updated with club news news, club events, schedules for development fixtures, Round Robin events, festivals and tournaments we participate in and so much more!

'Access Groups' (e.g Years 2, Year 3, Year 4, U11s, U12s etc) have been created already. This means once you have registered our Admin team (Chris, Damon and I) will add you to the relevant age group that your child(ren) play in.

You only be able to see information within your own access group. For example, a player or parent in the Year 5s access group will not be able to see information relevant to players and parents in the access Year 2s group.

The app functionality also allows your children to register where you will be set your as a their 'Guardian' and the player as a 'Child' where permissions and restriction are put in place to minimise risk and ensure all our players are kept safe.

The app also includes sections such as 'Availabilities' where you can inform your team coaches whether you are available or not available for training or games by adding in your own dates and times. This function will be of a huge benefit to our coaching staff who play practice sessions around the number available and of course will well in advance of who is available to play in what games too!

In the 'Teams' function, once you have confirmed that your child is available to play in a fixture, Team coaches can confirm the squad for the week ahead by sending out 'push notification' out to all in the access group. Faster and simpler than emails back and forth!

To get the full features of this app you need to go to the App Store or Google Play and download Team App  onto your smartphone or tablet.

Once downloaded you need to:

1. Sign-up to Team App. You'll be sent an e-mail to confirm your registration.

2. Log-in and search for Game Sense United, then request to become a member (you can see the GS United logo on the left).

3. Please ensure you select PUSH NOTIFICATIONS on set to ensure you receive Game Sense United notifications in real time.

If you don't have a smartphone or would prefer to receive e-mail correspondence, pleas

e reply to this e-mail with a request to be added manually.

We believe our Game Sense United app will help our club members interact better and support our youngsters even more all at the touch of a button!

With more functions to introduce in the coming weeks and months, we'll stop here and let you be the first to register and explore our new app before we meet introduce it to our minis sections in the near future. Of course if you have any concerns about the app please let us know.

A massive shout out to Coach Chris who has been instrumental in setting this up for us!

We believe this will be a huge part of our communications going forward (saving on emails, and email chasers). We believe that we can continue to spearhead positive change and set the standard in the football community with this is just another example of our modern, forward way of thinking.

We've received some fantastic feedback from parents that have used the App so far on how easy and helpful it is!

Have fun and we would love to hear your thoughts!
