We are pleased to advise that we have arranged out first development fixture of the 2015/16 season.

JTC Jersey Wanderers have offered us a game at their home ground JTC Park (just behind the Rugby Club and Jersey Bowl) on Sunday 18th October 2015 for players in School Years 2,3,4&5.

Similar to last season, I expect the Year 5 game will be played earlier than the others at around 9:15am, with the Years 2,3&4 playing from 10:30am simultaneously on different pitches.

Due to this match day opportunity, we shall be cancelling our Practice Sessions for School Years 2,3,4&5 at Grainville School on the Sunday 18th October day.

However, Group 1 Practice for Reception and School Year 1 shall run as usual at Grainville School from 9am-10am.

Parents, please can you confirm as soon as possible if your child will be available to participate in these fixtures via email to gamesensesoccer@gmail.com

Once we have an idea of number available to play we shall confirm details with JTC Wanderers and I shall send up confirmation of Kick Off Times etc.

Many thanks,

At the end of last season our GS United Minis met with Joshua Le Cornu.

For the past 10 years Josh has played most of his footballing career under the guidance of our head coach Aaron Travers and more recently with coach Ken Brawley. Josh was an established member of the Jersey Capita Centre of Excellence for several years before choosing to opt out this season to concentrate on his ‘A’ level studies in preparation for continuing his education at University.

During the summer Josh dedicated his time and commitment to supporting children through care projects, with a variety of programmes including education, hygiene, healthcare and sports in poverty stricken area in St. Louis, Senegal, on the coast of West Africa.

The project is run by Projects Abroad and it involves helping the local street children known as Talibés to become more independent and improve their quality of life.

As part of our commitment to supporting others, GS United donated a minimum of £5.00 from each player registration for the Summer Term 2015 to help Josh achieve his objective through the 'Projects Abroad' program.

Josh has since returned to Jersey and recently cuaght up with Aaron about his time in West Africa.

"What an amazing experience it was for me! I got a chance to see a whole new face of the world and help out those who have far less. I came away feeling like I had made a big difference in their lives" Josh explained.

During his residence in Senegal, Josh stated,

"Living with the family was tough, especially on my own. I was fully immersed in their way of life and their culture, eating with them and trying to communicate and understand their tribal language was challenging, but the experience I had was worth it"

He continued, "I would just like to add another huge thanks to all those who supported my trip and made this lifetime experience a reality!"

To add to the sponsorship provided to Josh, GS United Football Club donated Football Kit and footballs for Josh to take with him and provide to the families and children he met.

Now back at School, Josh shall soon be completing a presentation to his Victoria College peers and teachers about his trip.

Thank you to our players and parents for helping us to help Josh with this once in a lifetime experience.

GS United Football Club are pleased to announce their Mini’s Section for the 2015/16 season will now include youngsters in Reception Class!

From September 2015, our Mini’s Section will be restructed and will consist of three practice Groups on Sunday mornings during Term time.

Group 1 for Reception Class and School Year 1 will run from 9am to 10am with Coach Jonathon Le Fondre and Coach Brandon Brawley. Currently 11 places available in this group.

Group 2 for Schools years 2&3 will run from 10am to 11am with Head Coach Aaron Travers and Coach Damon O’Driscoll. Currently 6 places available in this group.

Group 3 for School years 4&5 will run from 11am to 12pm with Coach Ken Brawley. Currently 1 place available in this group.

All the above practices are restricted to just 18 participants ensuring that each player receives the quality interaction required from our coaches to aid their individual progress.

Our football programme is designed to improve players of all ages and abilities at every stage of their progression. Football is a great character building sport for both boys and girls, who as a result will hopefully gain greater self-confidence from an early age.

Our vision to develop players on and off the field of play, and guide young players to become the best they can be. This vision is promoted by the recruitment of some of the best local coaches within the island.

We will provide:

  • Small practice groups creating a positive learning environment!

  • Every player is provided with an opportunity to play! (A minimum of 50% playing time in each match)

  • Modern up-to-date practice sessions with qualified coaches!

  • INDOOR training facilities providing a safe, warm environment through the winter months for consistent practice sessions!

With the weather being a little temperamental during our "Jersey Summer" we suggest that your child brings a jumper, rain jacket and tracksuit bottoms too just incase of rain or adverse weather. We do not move indoors until clocks change in October.

And of course we would rather the boys have layers to take off if they get warm rather than not have any extra clothing to put on if it gets a little chilly.

Please also ensure your son or daughter wears Shin Pads and Football Boots whilst our practice sessions are outdoors.
