This week our Under 12s team started their 2018/19 season with a match against Trinity FC last Wednesday where CK kicked of the season with a bang scoring the teams first goal of the new season.

Today saw the Under 12s in action again at Springfield vs St.Lawrence in an action packed game with plenty of goals for both teams. Lourenco was a threat all afternoon bagging an impressive four goals and creating numerous chances for his teammates. Fin also hit a beauty from 20 yards over the goal keeper. New signing Jack scored on his Game Sense United debut whilst the final goal came from a shot rebounding from hitting the post to be knocked over the line by a recovering defender for an own goal.

After our initial two games we are pleased with the teams work rate and endeavour in learning a new formation and way of playing. Still a long way to go and lots more work to do but we've had a promising start as we look to continue our football education and development.

We done to all involved, players, coaches and parents!

Coach Aaron Travers was one of eight local Coaches to attend the UEFA B Level 3 - Block 1 in a recent 3 day trip to Portsmouth. The UEFA B Licence is the highest grass roots qualification available by the FA (equivalent to an A level standard).

All coaches in attendance will be required to attend Portsmouth another three times throughout this season to enhance learning and provide various coursework on planning, delivering and evaluating practice sessions and competitive matches for the team they coach.

To add to this, their Regional FA Tutor will visit the island during October and November. For Aaron this means a supportive In-Situ visit for him and his Under 11 team at Game Sense United on Wednesday 21st November.

Over the next 8 weeks, all coaches will have to write and provide their Coaching Philosophy and Playing Philosophy; Complete an analysis of their players; Complete training plans and of course complete some work during competitive fixtures their teams play in.

This is a huge piece of work to complete before returning to Portsmouth for Block 2 in December and we wish Aaron and the all 7 other coaches the best of luck in developing their coaching skills and knowledge that will benefit youth and adult football across the island for years to come.
