Game Sense United are delighted to announce the arrival of Game Sense Girls to our player development program!

Club Chairman Aaron Travers stated,

"A girls program has always been in our thoughts since Game Sense United formed four years ago. Recently we have achieved a higher level of Charter Standard status through our clubs growth and provision of football opportunities within the community. This coming season we feel we are in a position to support girls in a safe and fun environment and sessions will be delivered by an all female coaching team"

The GS Girls coaching sessions will initially be for players in School Years 2,3&4. Practice sessions will be during term time only on Thursday evenings from 5-6pm at Oakfield Sports Centre opposite Hautlieu School. The sessions will be lead by Coach Tiff Sundby starting on 5th September 2019

Currently studying her Level 2 coaching badge, Tiff's coaching experience includes coaching the Jersey FA Player Development Centre U12s, supporting the SSE Wildcats Centre as part of the Jersey FA Community Program and coaching the Rozel Rovers girls U14's girls team. Tiff will be supported by trainee coaches Brody, Talia and Leah Morris who will be registering to complete their Level 1 Coaching Certificate next season.

Aaron continued,

"Our current GS development program has already seen three female players represent the Jersey Primary School team and the Jersey FA Player Development Centre, however we feel that an all female coaching team is an important ingredient to increase female participationand provide football opportunities to young girls.

               Tiff                               Talia                              Brody                            Leah

We are excited to welcome Tiff, Brody, Talia and Leah to Game Sense United. We hope to inspire the next generation of players to enjoy their football and we throughly believe our new female coaching team can do just that.

Part of our Club Philosophy is to also provide the opportunity for new coaches to take their first steps on the coaching pathway and support them throughout their coaching journey. This is another great example of how we are doing exactly that.

Tiff has proven to be a great role model for girls football not only as a young coach but also a current Jersey Ladies player who will shortly be travelling to Ynys Mons for an Inter Games Tournament and we wish her and the rest of the island squad the best of luck and hope they bring back the trophy to our shores.

Leah, Talia and Brody all currently coach within the JFA Wildcats & Community Program as well as playing for the Under 16s JFA Player Development Centre and Rozel Rovers.

We have acquired four enthusiastic young women who are passionate about the sport and are looking forward to developing our Game Sense Girls Program during the coming seasons"

WHAT A WEEKEND!?!

Huge thanks to Clive, Darren, Bradley and their volunteer workforce at JTC Wanderers in providing another enjoyable festival this year!

Our youngsters from Reception through to Year 5 all enjoyed playing their game in another well organised fixtures program.

Lots of Game Sense United debuts throughout each of our age groups that included lots of goals goals goals! Saves, saves, saves! Tackles, tackles, tackles! Dribbles, dribbles, drib... well you get the picture, but most important what a great load of FUN, FUN, FUN!

Win, lose, or draw each of our teams competed, work hard and showed great togetherness and teamwork in our beautiful #orangebubble ;-)

A Ma-HOO-Sive shout out to our dedicated coaching team who work tirelessly and give up large parts of their own weekends to provide football opportunities four our young players. (and of course an even bigger shout out to our own partners too for putting up with our footballing bug and time away from our own families - you all rock!)

And finally, to our players and parents, where quite simply these events wouldn't happen without your support and belief in the 'GS United Way'.

This Saturday 25th May we look forward to our final Round Robin event at Springfield for our Year 3&4 players. (An updated email has been sent to you today please reply no later than tomorrow)

For now though, sit back, relax and enjoy some outstanding highlights from Saturdays festival on the link below.

With regards to Year 5, the rules of the festival state that a limited number of players are to be included in each team. Game Sense United has been in discussions with our friends at St.Pauls FC regarding this as we do not have enough players in Year 5 to fill a full squad, whilst St.Pauls have excess players that would miss out on this playing opportunity.

We have agreed it would be in the best interests of all players for our clubs to work together, join forces and combine to make a team ensuring as many players can participate as possible!

A fantastic morning of football delivered once again by our JFA Collas Crill Community Coach Dan Seviour at Springfield Stadium. (Thanks again Dan!)

For each club team entered there were 6 games available to play and they did not disappoint! End to end action, thrills and spills and that was just Coach Aaron's dodgy refereeing!

Our youngsters in Year 2 are really becoming a close knit bunch who work their socks off for each other where friendships are growing and it is great to see. This support of each other helped us to score some fantastic team goals! We played out from the back at times, we played directly at times and we scored some fabulous goals!

On the defensive side, after a slow start in the first game, our GS youngsters began to win their tackles and play forward quicker, and to add to that, some incredible saves from our rotating goalkeepers! Great fun all in a days work!

Thanks to all our players for a fun morning, thanks to all our parents for there support in some chilly weather and thanks to all the other clubs and teams involved for making these occasions what they should, about the kids and their game.

We look forward to seeing our Minis section return to practice on Sunday 28th April at

Le Rocquier School.
